Forum: Healthy citiesToronto's 1984 "Health for All" theme triggered the "Healthy Cities" movement. In 1987, The World Health Organization (WHO) designated certain cities with specific criteria to be in the pilot programme. The goal was to turn the vision of a healthy city into reality. Liverpool, England, was one of the cities chosen. The city was expected to make a political commitment and, through the sharing of ideas and experiences, become a model for other cities.
